Global Training & Travel

Over the past few months, our support and training team have been travelling extensively to provide training and implementation assistance to our customers in North America, Europe and Australia.

Vancouver & West Kelowna
In October through early November, Customer Support Manager Nina Wedding spent 2 weeks in Canada attending the HAC Convention and visiting current customers. While in West Kelowna, Nina performed onsite training at Valhalla Helicopters and was lucky enough to be given a tour of the hangar and a glimspe of some of their day-to-day operations. Nina appreciated the opportunity to spend time with the Valhalla team, who were nothing short of accommodating and kind during her stay.

Aberdeen & Tromsø
Software Development Manager, Matthew Botting, visited customer Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore in Aberdeen for implementation and support. He later travelled to Tromsø for a meeting with Scandinavian Air Ambulance to discuss their upcoming rollout in Norway. As Tromsø is located North of the arctic circle, Matt was lucky to see a glimpse of the Northern Lights in his down time.

Sydney
In November, CEO Aleks Banas and Customer Support Analyst Liam Magee travelled to Sydney to welcome customer KN Helicopters A/S to Australia, who were visiting from Denmark. Established in 2016, KN Helicopters specialises in charter flights for the offshore wind turbine sector and the oil and gas industry.

Whilst in Sydney, Aleks and Liam provided the KN Helicopters team with some product updates and configuration assistance during their visit.

Development

The Air Maestro Version 3.2 release is underway and currently being rolled out to customers. As part of this new release, Avinet is pleased to announce a Single Sign-On (SSO) integration feature using SAML technology.

This new integration enables Air Maestro customer logins to be linked to an external directory such as Office 365, Okta or OneLogin to name a few and either hosted at an operation’s premises or in the cloud.

The benefits of Single Sign-On technology include enhanced security by supporting multi-factor authentication if enabled on an operator’s directory. It also means that customers will no longer be required to remember a separate password for Air Maestro. Where password policy requires users to change their password on a regular basis, Air Maestro securely delegates the authentication check to the directory and is continually kept up to date.

For larger organisations, when an employee leaves the company, administrators can disable the user’s Air Maestro login simply by disabling their primary account. Provided an operation has a screen locking policy, Air Maestro can be configured so that a user does not have to log in at all.

Should you be interested in setting up Single Sign-On technology for your operation, we would be pleased to work on implementing this with your IT department. Please contact us at help@avinet.com.au for more information.
