What is the process should I choose to implement Air Maestro?
The process to setup an Air Maestro system begins with the establishment of your new Air Maestro site. Once the site is established, Avinet staff will assist you to setup or import your company data relevant to aircraft and personnel and complete the setup and customisation of your system for first use.
How long will the initial setup take?
The initial setup time is subject to the number of users and the amount of data that you wish to import into the system. Our development and support staff aim to have your new Air Maestro system established and ready to use within one week. Avinet support staff work with you to conduct user training and complete the setup of module preferences based on the way your business operates.
Will I receive help setting up my data?
Yes. Avinet support staff will assist you to setup your data by providing import templates in a Microsoft Excel format. These templates, once populated, can be automatically loaded into the system.
How is Air Maestro Priced?
Air Maestro pricing starts from 5 users upward to 500+ users. Pricing is based on a once off establishment fee which covers the initial system setup, hosting configuration, implementation and personnel training. An ongoing fee covering support, system enhancements and hosting services including backups and disaster recovery, is then paid either monthly/yearly. Is there an app available for mobile devices?
Yes, we currently have an iOS flight and duty app that allows the entry of flight record data regardless of location or internet connectivity. The app’s offline capabilities make it possible for pilots and crew who operate in remote areas to complete their data on the app and submit the information to their company’s Air Maestro site when internet connectivity is regained. The app is currently available via the App store here.
Can I purchase just the Operational or Safety Modules?
Yes, the pricing model for Air Maestro allows operators to implement all modules within the system or just the Operational or Safety Management System modules.
What do I need to access the Air Maestro software?
You simply require an internet connection and a compatible Internet browser.
What are the preferred internet browsers to use with Air Maestro?
Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari are currently the preferred browsers used to access Air Maestro. Air Maestro is continually enhanced to increase browser compatibility and overall performance.
What mobile devices work with Air Maestro?
Air Maestro is a web based application and can be accessed with most mobile devices including iPads and iPhones, given they have suitable browsers.
Does the SMS Alerting work internationally?
Yes, the phone SMS alerting system works on international mobile phone networks.
What is the cost of the SMS service?
A number of free SMS text messages are included in the ongoing fee. The number of included messages depends on your user numbers and is calculated per calendar month. Excess SMS messages created per calendar month will be charges to the Licensee at cost, which is currently $0.15 per SMS message.
How often is Air Maestro data backed up?
Air Maestro makes hourly transaction log backups and nightly full backups and these are immediately transferred to S3. In our EU and US environments, backups are also mirrored to another region within the same continent. Weekly backups are retained for 10 years and transferred to AWS Glacier for long term storage.
What if the hosting system fails?
Air Maestro systems have multiple redundancies built in and are constantly being monitored and maintained to prevent any failures. However, in the event of a catastrophic failure, we have multiple contingencies in place should one or components of the hosting environment fail. These range from bringing up new servers within the existing environment or bringing up a replica of the hosting environment in a different region.
Where are Air Maestro systems hosted?
Air Maestro is hosted in AWS regions including Oregon (USA), Ireland and Sydney (Australia). Depending on where your core operation resides, the most appropriate hosting location is selected based on your location for best speed and accessibility.
Is my data safe and secure?
Yes. Your data is protected by security measures that restrict access from anyone who does not have a user profile on your system with the correct level of access to the data concerned.
Who has access to my data?
Each of your staff will be assigned a user account to allow them to access your Air Maestro system. You are able to control who has access to your data by utilising a comprehensive set of access level preferences for each your users. Established security measures restrict access to anyone who does not have authorisation to access your site via their own username and password.
Can I import and export my data?
Air Maestro allows you to import specific data in set file formats. Please ask Avinet staff for more information about importing data. Air Maestro can export custom reporting, recency, rostering, logbook, safety and other types of data in various file formats. Please ask Avinet staff for more information about exporting data.
Do I need to install or update the software?
No. Air Maestro is a cloud-based hosted service, which means that there is no hardware or software required at your location other than a computer, an internet connection and suitable browser.
How is the software updated?
Avinet works to update your Air Maestro system with new features and enhancements throughout the calendar year. Currently, users can expect two to three updates per calendar year. Software updates are applied automatically and in most cases with very little or no downtime required. Any updates that require downtime can generally be completed within approximately 30 minutes and can be completed at a time that is convenient to you.
What training is provided?
Avinet support staff provide comprehensive user training of all Air Maestro modules. This training can be conducted in a one-on-one or group setting. Training is usually performed using web based screen sharing facilities however we can also provide face-to-face offsite training in either our offices or yours. What are the support hours?
The Avinet Helpdesk is available between 8am and 6pm (Australian CST) from Monday to Friday. For critical enquiries, the Helpdesk service provides an after-hours voicemail service that is monitored by support staff outside of these hours.
Are different time zones supported?
Yes. Air Maestro has been designed to support operations across multiple time zones to cater for users worldwide. Functions have been included to allow users to specify their current time zone in order to record and validate flight and duty time using a local time reference. The Air Maestro system will also sync itself to your local time each time that you login.
Does it support multiple Work Practices?
Yes. The Air Maestro system can support any number of separate work practices rule sets and can work with these when validating flight and duty limits for individual duties.
