Next month the 2015 Heli-Expo is being held in Orlando, Florida and Avinet is set to return for their fifth consecutive year. During 3-5 March Avinet will be found at booth #2760 where attendees will see Avinet staff handing out promotional gear and holding an exciting business card draw.
CEO Mike Mulvihill, Customer Support and Quality Manager Aleks Banas and Customer Support Analyst Phil Wu will be attending the expo and offering free Air Maestro demonstrations over the three day event.
Avinet can’t wait for their return to Heli-Expo and look forward to the new opportunities that could arise.

Last week saw the 2015 Air Maestro User Conference as the most successful conference held yet. With a record number of attendees, including Royal Flying Doctors Service and Westpac Rescue (Hunter Region) as well as international attendances from companies such as Avincis and Heli Malongo it was an exciting opportunity for everyone to network and learn. With presentations from the Avinet staff, special guest speakers and an informal social dinner, the conference was a success from every aspect.
Avinet would like to thank everyone who attended the conference and we sincerely hope you all had an enjoyable time.

This week, Avinet welcomed Rob Daneel upon his arrival to Adelaide. Rob is our South African partner and CEO of Cairn Aviation, he is also responsible for the sales and support of Air Maestro in the African and Middle East.
Having him arrive for his trip to Adelaide just in time for the Air Maestro User Conference, will be a great asset for everyone involved. We hope you are equally as excited as us about Rob's trip.

Avinet is excitedly preparing for the 2015 Air Maestro User Conference as it approaches, with only one week left to buy tickets. The event is held over a two day period, on the 11th and 12th of February at The Playford Hotel. The days will be filled with informative training and speakers, with a social dinner held in the evening for all Air Maestro users.

This date is just in time for the Adelaide Fringe which commences on the 13th, and the Adelaide Clipsal which commences on the following week. During 21 - 23 of October, Avinet exhibited at booth #1426 demonstrating how Air Maestro can simplify safety and operational requirements at the Air Medical Transport Convention in Virginia, US.
CEO Michael Mulvihill, along with North American Alliance Partner Michael Payne, represented Avinet at the Convention and focused on how Air Maestro fosters the development of risk mitigation strategies.
The AMTC is the world’s largest air medical convention that exhibits products and services directed solely for the EMS industry and aims to educate and facilitate innovation in a variety of areas including safety, aviation, and research.

Avinet has just been announced as a Finalist in the Business SA 2013 Export Awards. The Awards recognise South Australian companies for their innovation and success in industry and export.
The team has been nominated for the category of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for outstanding international success in the field of information and communication development for their suite of Maestro software products.
Results will be announced on Friday 11 October at a luncheon, held at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

- All RPT Operators to have CAMO approvals
- All RPT Operators will use Part 145 AMOs for maintenance
- All maintenance organisations maintaining RPT aircraft and their aeronautical products will be Part 145 approved
- All Maintenance Training Organisations will be Part 147 approved

The Avinet team has wrapped up yet another successful Air Maestro User Conference for the year.

Avinet has just secured their first Canadian customer, adding to the other 21 various countries Air Maestro is currently being used in!
Customer Support Manager, Aleks Banas, and Managing Director, Paul Lewin, have been in Vegas over the past few days for key rotary Tradeshow, Heli-Expo 2013, which draws crowds from various countries across the globe.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Matthew Thomas and Richard Yates are guest speakers at the 2012 conference.
Formally a UniSA lecturer on Human Factors and Safety Management, Dr Matthew Thomas will present on Safety Management Systems. Richard Yates from Integrated Safety Support will again present on Fatigue Risk Management Systems and will have some interesting updates from the FRMS Global Summit.

Bianca Stewart started with Avinet yesterday in the role of Marketing Communications Coordinator. Bianca graduated with a Marketing & Communication Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Australia last week and brings with her an infectious positive attitude and passion for marketing, public relations and design.
Bianca replaces Gabrielle who will finish up with the company in October on indefinite maternity leave.

Avinet has experienced significant growth this year with almost 30 customers since Christmas. We think we have a pretty special product with Air Maestro and it seems aviation operators do too!

This September Avinet will team up with alliance partner SMS Aero at HeliTech. Taking place in Duxford UK, Helitech is the largest dedicated helicopter exhibition in Europe and is a significant event on the Avinet tradeshow calendar.

The Aerial Agriculture Association of Australia (AAAA) Convention 2011 took
place in Adelaide, South Australia last week. Avinet exhibited at the event and
performed numerous Air Maestro demonstrations to an enthusiastic and interested
crowd. The AAAA hosted event was a real success and the Avinet team enjoyed
mixing with delegates and fellow exhibitors alike.
We would also like to congratulate Darryl Taylor from Tasmanian Helicopters
for taking out the Avinet business card draw. Darryl took home a gourmet hamper

Avinet farewells Alex Kadow & welcomes Phillip Wu

As some of you have probably heard, Alex Kadow has left Avinet to pursue his flying career. Alex was a bright member of the team and he will be missed by staff and customers alike. Avinet wishes Alex all the best as he follows his passion and heads back to flying school.
Alex's replacement, Phillip Wu, will start on the 1st March as trainee Customer Support Analyst!
Phillip has already met quite a few of our customers at the Air Maestro User Conference and is looking forward to beginning his training with Avinet next month. Phillip graduated from the University of South Australia last year with a Bachelor of Information Technology in computing and multimedia.

Kulwinder joins the Avinet team on a 12 week internship. Kulwinder is an enthusiastic and bright intern currently completing the Australian Computer Society’s Professional Year Program. Kulwinder recently graduated from the University of South Australia with a Masters of Information and Communication Technology Management. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Jammu, India.
Kulwinder will be assisting the development team over the next 12 weeks with product testing.

Air Maestro Release 2.6 containing a number of enhancements is deployed to all Air Maestro customers. This Release 2.6 focuses on operational functionality with Air Maestro. Release 2.7 which contains a number of Safety Management Module enhacements is well under way an due for release later in Q1 - 2011.

Plans to stage the first Air Maestro® User Group Conference in early 2011 are currently underway. This event, directly inspired by customer feedback, will run as a free one day conference open to all Air Maestro® customers. It will feature guest speakers, product updates and new release demonstrations coupled with the chance to interact with other Air Maestro® users and Avinet developers, support and management personnel. There will also be the opportunity for attendee’s to participle in Air Maestro training on days either side of the conference.
“The purpose of the conference is to provide an interchange of information and comments between Avinet and Air Maestro users in order to improve Air Maestro and meet customer needs,” comments Avinet CEO Mike Mulvihill.

The newly renovated Avinet and Comunet offices, located on the ground floor of the current office building, are close to completion. The reconstruction of the downstairs area has been underway for the last few months and will feature more space, modern meeting, training and conference rooms, a large corporate board room and a great new staff entertainment area.
We will be moving this Friday, September 24th 2010. We do not expect any major complications with regards to receiving support phone calls. However, during this time you may be redirected to voicemail and one of our staff will return your call without delay.

Avinet is attending the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) 2010 Expo for the first time this September (21st to 25th) in Cape Town. Avinet will team up with local alliance partner Cairn Aviation to host a joint stand at what organisers believe will be the biggest AAD Expo ever staged.
“AAD has come along at a great time,” says Avinet’s Chief Executive Mike Mulvihill. “We’ve had a huge amount of interest, especially from many of the region’s helicopter operators, and the Expo will be a great way to catch up with those we have been talking to over the last few months.”
Alex Kadow, Avinet’s skilled Support Analyst, will represent Avinet at AAD alongside Cairn Aviation CEO, Rob Daneel. Avinet and Cairn Aviation will be in Hall 7 on Stand 7S9a.

Avinet Celebrates its 5th Year Anniversary

On 6th July 2010 Avinet celebrated a significant milestone – its 5th Year Anniversary. The celebrations kicked off at the Avinet Office with the draw of the 5th Year Anniversary Competition where five valued customers won gift hampers of quality local produce. The competition was drawn by special guest, IBM Aviation Representative Trudy Nankervis.
Trudy has recently joined IBM and is committed to working in partnership with Avinet in order to continue to implement and provide superior tailored technological solutions that meet the needs of the aviation industry.

Avinet attended the 55th annual Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar held in Arizona, USA from May 11-13th, 2010. The CASS event was Presented by Flight Safety Foundation and National Business Aviation Association. Avinet and Clockwork Research exhibited together at the event.
